ArtisanARTISAN is unique in the folk world these days. They are an all a capella trio from England doing original songs. The songs are wordy, funny, clever, and charming. The members of the trio, Jacey and Brian Bedford and Hillary Spencer are wordy, funny, clever, and charming as well. The harmonies are lush and compelling, and many of their songs have irresistible choruses. (Oh, good!) This irrepressible trio took the 1999 Folk Project Spring Festival by storm. |

Wild AsparagusIt's a rare act that can switch gears to be both a concert and dance band, but WILD ASPARAGUS has been doing just that for 25 years. Probably the most renowned contra dance band in the world, W.A. is equally at home singing and playing for a listening crowd. Headed by caller and concertina player George Marshall, the band also includes Becky Tracy on fiddle, David Cantienin on winds, Anne Percival on piano and guitar, and Stuard Kenney on bass. |

Les BarkerLES BARKER writes strange poems and comes from Manchester, England. He was an accountant before he became a professional idiot. He's written 65 books, which sell in large numbers at his gigs because people don't quite believe what they've just heard. His poems have spawned a number of folk heroes: Jason and the Arguments, Cosmo the Fairly Accurate Knife Thrower, Captain Indecisive and Spot of the Antarctic, to name but two. |
