Tips Before You Come to Festival
Here are some tips about things you should bring to Festival to help in your picture taking. This list is mostly oriented toward digital cameras, but some of these items also apply to film cameras.
Extra memory: flash memory is the film of the digital camera; the more you have, the more pictures you can take.
Extra batteries: it is all too easy to drain a battery in the middle of a shoot; having extra batteries allows you to continue shooting.
Battery charger: you will need a way to recharge your batteries after they have been used.
Tripod, monopod, or beanbag: it helps to have something stable to put your camera on, particularly when taking photos in low light conditions.
Camera users guide: there are lots of options on today's digital cameras, and it is always useful to be able to refresh your memory about your own camera's controls and abilities.
Laptop (optional): it helps to see your photos on a big screen after a shoot, and if you download your pictures into your computer, your flash memory is freed up to take more pictures.
Camera download cable: if you bring your laptop, don't forget the cable for downloading the pictures into it.
Laptop power cable: don't forget, your laptop needs power too.
