FP Logo Folk Project: House Concerts

Our House Concerts series helps to bring folk musicians into performance in intimate surroundings, the homes of our members. Sometimes these performances are associated with additional workshops, allowing attendees a chance to develop their own skills in a particular musical style.

Beppe Gambetta

A House Concert in Rockaway, NJ
Sunday, July 5th 2009 at 7:00pm
Ticket price: $15 in advance/$20 at the door

As a native of Genova Italy, Beppe Gambetta developed a unique style crossing his love of both American country and bluegrass and mixing it with the sounds of his homeland, he has created a musical "koiné" (fusion) where country music and Ligurian tradition, emigration songs and folk ballads, mandolins and harp guitars not only co-exist but interact, weaving a deep dialog unaware of any rigid classification. Beppe's playing and singing stand out for their intimate emotions, communication, research in tone, sobriety and humor. An inspired music that modestly avoids relying solely on his high level of technical excellence, but also reveals the innermost feelings of a brilliant, playful mind that is always firmly exploring and innovating while staying firmly rooted in tradition.
