The Folk Project is a not-for-profit folk music, storytelling, and dance organization which
sponsors or organizes a wide variety of folk activities in the
Northern New Jersey area.

There is a comprehensive
listing of folk music activities in the US accessed either by artist or
state from Dirty Linen folk music magazine.
There is also the
Musi-Cal music events database
that covers all sorts of music including folk. This
database can be queried geographically (in city Y, or within X miles of city
Y) or by performer.
